Purchasing his first artwork in the early 1970’s and then seriously starting his collection in the 1990’s, Meier-Linnert’s focus lies mainly on concrete and conceptual art. In 2022, the private collection was transformed into the independent art foundation „Kunststiftung Meier-Linnert” to keep it accessible to the public. The foundation is based in Deinste, a small village in the outskirts of Hamburg. The collection now comprises around 250 works of art.
